Have taught and devised schemes of work for Art and Design as Head of Art at a prep school in Caterham for nearly 4 years. Also teach French to groups and individuals at primary age and to adults and have taught EFL and Italian. Like teaching all ages but do get on well with children and teenagers alike. Have two young ones myself so I do tend to understand children and find them fun!
I have several years worth of sales and customer services experience. My background is both academic and customer-service focused. I am knowledgeable and experienced in the area of international education.
I am an experienced and trained teacher. I currently teach in the private and public sector but have also worked in welfare and administrative roles for EF Brighton and ELC. I worked as an Account Manager at i-studentgroup in Hove where I was responsible for creating mainly new leads and generating new business by meeting clients face to face and also developing relationships with them on the telephone. Prior to this, I worked at Tenuk which is a private concierge service in London where I was promoted internally several times. My final role at Tenuk was a Sales Team Leader which meant I had to be target driven and good at sales but also proficient at managing staff and working with them to hit team targets such as at the end of the month or when we were behind with sales. I enjoy working with new and existing clients and think I am good at developing and maintaining new relationships.
In terms of education, I am PGCE qualified, have an MA from the university of Leeds and a BA from Exeter (in Italian and Fine Art). I can speak Italian to advanced level and have a good working knowledge of French. I can also converse in Spanish at basic level. I believe I am good at using my initiative and so can work alone but also enjoy working as part of a team. I love a challenge! I like writing and have written many essays, dissertations and school reports, schemes of work and scholarship references. I have some experience of written translation into English from Italian.
