My background

Born in Sheffield I became a teacher after dabbling in outdoor pursuits. Taught for over 30 years, mostly in British Forces Schools in Germany. Took early retirement when those schools closed and I am now a writer and battlefield guide, living partly in the UK and partly in northern France. I am in my second marriage, now with 4 adult daughters and step-sons.

Experience

A secondary maths teacher for over 30 years in all areas of the dm school. Head of Maths for 12 years before becoming a school leader, eventually Deputy Headteacher before retiring.
