My background

I am a friendly and enthusiastic Maths tutor. I enjoy helping others reach their full potential and I am confident I can do this for you. I have flexible working hours and will tailor my timings to match your needs. I also offer a free trial session!

My teaching style:
As I am passionate about my subject, I find it easy to teach content to others: it comes naturally to me. My teaching approach depends on a student’s knowledge of the topic in question. However, I believe firstly covering the topic in-depth to ensure an initial understanding followed by lots of practice with questions and examples works best. I think it is also important for the student to be vocal about what learning methods work best for them, particular ways they may wish to go about certain topics, and how I can be of best use to them.

Experience

I am currently a Mathematics undergraduate at Durham University. I am excelling academically and am predicted a first-class honours in my degree. Before university, I attended a specialist Mathematics school for A Levels where I achieved A*A*A* in Maths, Further Maths and Physics. In my second year of A-Levels, I was part of a programme where second-years would tutor first-years in our lunch breaks to assist them with any problems they were experiencing. Since university, I have tutored more student, including at GCSE level, who have given me positive feedback on my tutoring style. By teaching many different individuals at different levels, I have been able to fine-tune my teaching methodology. I, therefore, believe I am able to offer comprehensive and engaging tutoring to many different types of individuals.

Qualifications

• Achieved 1:1 in first year and second year. Predicted to achieve 1:1 overall.
• A*A*A* in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics at A-Level. My Mathematics modules include C1, C2, C3, C4, M1, M2, M3, S1, S2, FP1, FP2, FP3.
• A in Chemistry AS-Level.
• Achieved Gold in UKMT Solo Mathematics Challenge, qualifying to compete in the British Mathematical Olympiad.
• Competed in the British Physics Olympiad and achieved a Silver award.
• 8A*s, 3As at GCSE level, including A*s in Mathematics, Statistics and Physics.
