I am a hard-working, highly organised, accomplished worker in admin, offices and customer service.
I am a journalism graduate with experience in running ecommerce websites as well as news and blogging sites. I am also well versed in using social media, design software such as Photoshop and InDesign and email marketing software such as Mailchimp. I can provide examples of my work on request.
Nominated for the David Welch Student Sportswriter Award in 2014, I have been the editor of local sports news website in Sunderland, as well as a reporter, sub-editor and magazine editor. I University awards for my student journalism and ran a successful hyperlocal news website in Sunderland.
I have in recent years been on the desks of the Lincolnshire Echo, Grimsby Telegraph and Shields Gazette, where I have had back page stories and helped out with subbing, interviewing and general office work.
I studied Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland, attaining a 2:1 in my degree, a first in my final project and earning qualifications from the National Council for the Training of Journalists (including in shorthand).
I have a strong knowledge of computers in general. In my current role I oversee the computer situation at the company. I am the first person my colleagues come to when they have a computer issue, and in the past three years I have helped to install new data servers, planned and created new systems to aid the sales team and supported management with the technical side of the business which they are not well versed in. I am also experienced with Mac OS and the Linux OS, having used both extensively at home and at university.
