My background

I am a Classics & French graduate from King's College London who is a native English and fluent French speaker and communicator. I have always enjoyed passing on my passion and knowledge for my chosen fields, and relish the opportunity to do this in a safe, collaborative environment. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy running, cooking, spending time with family and friends and reading.

Experience

I have experience tutoring at a highly regarded London tutoring agencies in a wide range of subjects including English (up to GCSE or equivalent level), French (up to A Level) and KS2 or equivalent Maths. I have also coached students taking 11+ entrance exams. Beyond this, my teaching experiences also branches to swimming teaching; educating the young and inspiring and motivating students is a passion of mine.

When teaching I use a methodical approach which adapts to each student's learning styles and strengths. Lessons are tailored to each student while I believe that a varied methodology including a range of approaches, which might include reading aloud, completing exercises, discussions on a certain topic and fun 'tests' keep students engaged, all while working towards clear, achievable goals each session and on a more long term basis. Students are encouraged to ask questions, voice concerns and collaborate during a given session.

Qualifications

King’s College London, BA in Classical Studies and French (with a Year Abroad). Awarded a distinction in oral French
Exceptional A Levels in French, Classical Civilisation and Psychology
