My background

I love teaching and have been doing it for almost 25 years: in secondary schools, primary schools, a charity, a pre-school, an after-school tuition centre and as a sole trader; working with children and adults; teaching French, English as a Foreign Language, Literacy and Numeracy (from Entry Level 1 - Level 1), National 5 English preparation, Maths and beginner Spanish . I have lots of resources and tailor lessons to suit each learner, making them student-centred and fun. Current learners include: a 10 year-old girl, who I am home schooling; an adult professional, who works with senior government officials relating to port security (on 'skype'); primary and high school students between the ages of 8 and 16., who I work with in pairs or 1:1; adult English professionals wanting to improve their French; non-English adults wanting to improve their English, with a view to sitting the Citizenship Test.

Experience

I lived abroad at a young age, so have always had an aptitude for languages: working as 'une h?tesse d'accueil' (courier) in a tourist office, at the age of 17 - a scheme organised by the twinning association; work as an 'assistante' for a year, in French primary and secondary schools, as part of my degree; teaching KS 3 and 4 on a full-time basis, in two secondary schools and then as a supply teacher; teaching ESOL, in many language schools; teaching as a sole trader, in Gosport and now here, in Dunfermline.

Qualifications

I have the following qualifications, in order of relevance to this position: PGCE, to teach French with Geography/ CELTA (Cambridge English Language Teaching Award)/ TEFL Certificate, completed by correspondence/ NVQ Level 2, in 'Children's Care, Learning and Development' and the Level 3 Diploma . 'For the Children's and Young People's Workforce'/ BA Hons in Modern European Studies/ A levels in French, Geography and Art.
