My background

My name is Corey and I am a second year student studying Engineering at the University of Manchester. I am friendly, hardworking and love helping my fellow classmates (and family) understand and enjoy Maths as much as I do!

At A-level, I achieved an A in Maths, a B in Further Maths and B in Physics. I also completed an extra course in Engineering.

At university I regularly partake in laboratories and design projects which has helped to develop my understanding of core principles of Mathematics and has enabled me to put these into practice. I also regularly volunteer to help out teaching other students who are struggling with their work.

I myself struggled with Maths until I found the right teacher, so I hope that I too can help students of any age to lose their fear of Maths and to realise that they are capable of overcoming any challenge they may face.

As part of my first tutoring session, I will encourage students to share the areas in which they require help and will work with them to develop a plan as to how to tackle these difficult areas step by step. I firmly believe that a students enjoyment is vital to learning and retaining that information and will support efforts to learn with positive encouragement.
