My background

Hi I'm Julie, pleased to meet you!
I'm an enthusiastic and experienced teacher of Spanish, French and English as a foreign language. I love languages and different cultures and I understand the difficulties of learning a language as I've studied 4! I am a friendly and approachable teacher, who is patient, understanding and encouraging. I can help you with A level, GCSE or Cambridge English exam preparation or even more general confidence building and finding a lost love of languages!
I love the great outdoors, I have a small camper van and love travelling.

Experience

I’m a qualified MFL and TEFL teacher with 14 years of experience teaching in the secondary school sector in the UK. I have taught French and Spanish to GCSE level every year for several different exam boards. I have taught to A level for 12 years too. All of this means I have lots of experience in understanding "what examiners want". My experiences of having lived and worked in both countries means I can bring an excellent cultural understanding and language that goes deeper than straight from the text book.
Part of my work was taking languages teaching to smaller primary schools and I also supported children with English as an additional language. Prior to this I worked for over 5 years teaching English as a foreign language in private language school in Spain where I worked with all ages of learners, from primary school to adult and including some business classes whilst gaining qualifications in Spanish and Catalan.
