My background

*Pro Bono Accepted*I am an IB diploma student and will be graduating with a GPA of 4.9 across 11th and 12th grade. I am predicted 7's in all my classes and expect to receive my diploma on July 6. In my high school, I started a Chemistry Tutoring Club where I helped my fellow IB students with topics like dative bonding, moles and reacting masses, electronegativity and polarity, etc. I also took Maths and Biology Higher Level in IB and excelled and hence am qualified to help with Maths and Biology academically. I often help my peers with schoolwork and have helped start two peer programmes at my school to help students integrate into high school. I received 1370 on the PSAT (99th percentile) and 1410 on SAT (97th percentile). I won the Harvard Book Prize at my school and have a silver award from the Royal Society of Biology for participating in the British Biology Olympiad (BBO).

Experience

I have previous experience starting a chemistry tutoring club at my high school and organising several peer programmes to help give underclassmen academic and social advice. I am qualified to teach Biology, Chemistry, and Maths up to a high school level/sixth form (approximately ages 18 and under). I'm happy to help with GCSE, A Level, and IB syllabi, as well as general secondary school classes (any level of Chemistry up to High school). My lessons will be planned and focused on clarifying content concerns and giving sufficient practice. We will meet first to identify your needs and the academic resources we can use, and then I will help you improve topic by topic or general revision. I will use technology and resources as well as visual aids to support your learning whenever relevant. I am flexible to your manner of learning and understanding.

Achievements :
• Started my own Chemistry Tutoring Club where I successfully held 6 group sessions on IB Chemistry topics including dative bonding, electronegativity and polarity, and moles and reacting masses. I also provided individual tutoring to help fellow classmates with specific questions.
• Vice President of Psychology club for 2 years where I started a peer programme which helped 8th graders initiate into High school by providing a tour and guide of High school.
• Editor-in-chief and Head of design of the school newspaper for 3 years where I edited and designed 6 editions in total. This involved recruiting members, organizing and holding meetings, brainstorming ideas, meeting with school administration, photographing, designing, and editing.
• Volunteered for 14 hours at my High school library and 10 hours in the Middle School library throughout high school. I helped individuals access books and organized and labelled books by genre.
• Acted as treasurer of the NHS (National Honour Society) for 1 year. The club organized a programme for 9th graders where upperclassmen provided academic and social advice.
