My name is Veronica O'Connell and I am a 22-year old student at Loughborough University, currently studying Chemistry and on track to achieve a first class degree. I believe I have sufficient qualifications to teach Primary level Maths and English, having taken Maths at A level and having gotten an A* in English Language GCSE.
I took a gap year before coming to University, during which I worked as a Teaching Assistant in a local primary school. This helped me gain a great amount of experience in teaching as I worked with small groups of children within the class, who needed extra support for Maths, English and Science.
I have always had a passion for informally teaching and passing on my knowledge to other people and I believe in guiding the student to a complete understanding of the subject, not just simply teaching them a method, so that they have a much greater chance of being able to solve a future problem on their own. Because of this, I received very positive feedback from the teachers I worked with, as they could see a clear improvement in the students' comprehension of the topic they were currently learning.
I believe I am an understanding, patient and tenacious person, all of which make me suitable to tutor your child/children. I will persevere until my students fully understand what I am trying to teach them and ensure that a solid foundation of knowledge is laid for them.
I have GCSE and A level qualifications in Maths and I am on track to achieve a first class degree in Chemistry.
