My background

A confident and energetic person with a natural aptitude for communication in my native English, fluency in Mandarin Chinese and French, and a good competency in German and Spanish. My work ethics ensure I am committed and focused to always attain the highest standards of achievement and guarantee the best outcomes for my pupils. Examples being gaining Grade 8 in musicianship, becoming Head Chorister at Peterborough Cathedral, working for over 4 years at Next Plc in a variety of part-time positions, and at Travelex in a full-time capacity, often involving leadership roles. From July 2014 to April 2016, I worked in Sydney, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand, working in three individually unique financial companies to enhance my exposure to professional environments in a foreign setting.
Educated at Nottingham University, part of my degree involved a successful character-building year abroad covering 6 months studying in China then followed by the same period working at a software house in Paris. My Master’s degree enhanced my translation skills further and developed my understanding of how languages function. Following my period living abroad, I returned to the UK for further work experience to enhance my professional working skills and career development. With a greater financial security behind me, I was able to then support myself through my teacher trainee year, which I graduated from in July 2018. I found employment immediately in an academically strong MAT in Peterborough, UK, where I successfully passed my NQT year. My RQT Year has built on these successes, passing with Good / Outstanding lesson observations, curriculum walks & examples of how I am contributing to changing or adapting the curriculum used in school and also for our online learning this year. I am currently still teaching French and German across KS3, while learning Spanish in my free time.
I am seeking a position to be able to offer tutoring which enables me to progress in my teacher training and to further complement my skills acquired during three years of teaching. I can offer four languages to my future students and I have already a whole wealth of experience of living abroad in foreign cultures along with interesting stories to tell my students, ensuring they get both cultural appreciation and language proficiency in my language lessons.
