My background

Hello, my name is Polly, and I have degrees in Classics, specialising in literature, from Oxford (MSt, Distinction) and St Andrews (First). I offer tutoring in English and Classics, including the Greek and Latin languages. I can tutor at GCSE and A-level, the IB (which I took at school), and can also help with Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers.

My teaching approach focuses on core skills and techniques. I can help you to efficiently and effectively learn the facts, vocabulary and quotations etc., and then help you to utilise them in a broader sense, such as understanding, how to approach an essay, or what to consider when reading a text. I can also offer tips, methods and resources for revision, and study skills generally.
