I am a recent graduate of Falmouth University, the #1 Arts University in the UK, with a Bachelor's in Popular Music and a Junior Guildhall School of Music graduate with Voice as my chosen instrument, as the youngest student accepted onto the programme. As a tutor I have taught music students in singing, piano, music theory, and songwriting. As part of my background in 3 years of nannying, I have assisted children with their music homework, music theory, and instrument practice- helping with technique, organisation and confidence. I have also mentored adults in songwriting, music business and performance technique.
My teaching methodology is based on the belief that every student, no matter their age or starting level, is capable of achieving whatever they put their mind to. This is so long as they have confidence in their own abilities, find the fun and stay focused, which I help them to accomplish as their tutor. Every student's dream or goal is well within their reach if they have this and I see my job as helping to provide it. Moreover, my students are left with a toolkit to use on their own to self-sufficiently achieve their long-term goals independently. Whether that's with music theory, school curriculum work, songwriting, piano, keyboard, ukulele, singing or building a professional career and performance identity, we will happily get there.
Some reviews of my mentorship/care:
"Nana is a lovely, friendly, breath of fresh air and we have very much enjoyed her."
"Nana is enthusiastic, caring, with a lovely nature. She has a sensible head on her shoulders, a professional approach with a very good work ethic."
"Everything is a learning experience, and she makes it both fun and beneficial. She is a very kind, loving and sensible presence around our home."
In my own professional career, I have been awarded BBC Favourite Find of the Week, BBC Favourite Track of The Week, been a chosen artist for 4 BBC Stay at Home Sessions, the chosen 'Spotlight Artist' on BBC Radio London for an interview and live performance, as well as on BBC Radio Cornwall. My music has been featured alongside my interviews on BBC Introducing SW, Melatrois, Pirate FM, and Surf Radio Fal.
I have performed alongside such artists as X Factor winner Samuel Storm, Warner Music artist Ana Senko, Britain's Got Talent star Josh Curnow, the Voice sensation Daisy Clark, R&B sensation Adriana Tèrren, Tanaka Fuego, Ganda Boys (co-performers with Stevie Wonder,) and performed at SoFar Sounds with one of their favourites, Frank Song Jr. I was chosen as one of Routenotes’s top 4 solo session artists for 2019, out of 190 other songs. I have also performed at festivals and fundraisers for Clunk Magazine, Whisper Magazine Festival, HotVox for WarChild and my own BBC One endorsed festival ‘Turn Up The World.’

I ran my school, teaching girls singing technique, and improving their confidence with performing. With my years of training, I can teach Classical technique, Soul, Funk, Pop, and Jazz. Together we will learn the intricacies of technique, but also how to tell a story through music and perform confidently through self-expression.
