My background

Hi! I'm Molly and I'm a Biomedical Science student at the University of York. I love my degree as it allows me to study each aspect of the human body in detail, and understand the impact that diseases can have on each organ, which is obviously crucial to the development of new treatments. I have recently completed my A Levels, and so have experience of the new exams and understand how to tackle the tricky wording of the questions to tick all the boxes in the mark schemes. I understand how stressful these exams can be, and know first hand that even the most interesting of subjects can become boring when you're taught the information in a set way. I aim to make my lessons fun and enjoyable, as you're more likely to remember information when it's taught in an interactive way.

Experience

I have been tutoring for three years, and love watching my students make huge gains in their confidence and abilities as they progress through their lessons. Often, all that is needed for a student to succeed is a friendly, supportive learning environment in which they feel comfortable enough to ask question and make mistakes, and that's what I aim for my tutoring sessions to be. I have experience tutoring a huge range of students with varying needs, including helping very capable, higher level GCSE students push their grade up from an 8 to a 9, and supporting less confident students to gain the self-belief needed to excel in their subjects.
