My name is Ernest Lincoln Dews and you can call me Lincoln. I am a graduate of The University of Manchester where I very much enjoyed studying a bachelor of Computer Science (Hons). I also studied Maths, Physics and Music at A-level where I gained a grade A in Maths and have always been in top set maths classes throughout my school career. Maths and computing are subjects which I naturally always like to help my peers with in classroom or training sessions. My main work experience as a private tutor has been in Maths A-level and GCSE topics where I significantly and consistently improved the learning progress and achievements of my students formative and summative assessment levels. I aim to help you to understand what you did, why you did something, what the lesson objectives are, as well as making suggestions on what could be improved when tackling new or different problems and solutions.
My most recent postgraduate degree is a PGCEi in International Education from The University of Nottingham and my most recent teaching assignment was 5 years with Disney English teaching TEFL-C English to Chinese children in the city of Shenzhen with class sizes of no more than 15 children per 2 hour session. Hobbies I like when I am not teaching maths and computing include programming, computer hardware, reading, playing the violin, piano, speaking and writing Mandarin Chinese, chess, jogging in the woods / parks and squash. I am always highly motivated, confident, honest, hard working and accountable in everything I do and particularly as a teacher and tutor. Very much looking forward to sharing and teaching my passions for maths and computing.
