With many years of experience in a number of British schools teaching science and Biology up to and including UK Advanced level, Jason is a graduate of Warwick University in the UK and post-graduate of Leicester University in the UK. He has also held a number of leadership positions in his 25+ years of teaching including Head of Biology, Head of Faculty, Assistant Headteacher and Principal and holds the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers.
Jason has a wealth of experience and a passion for education, viewing it as a gateway to self-improvement and better life prospects. He has taught UK KS3 and KS4 Science (most examination boards), Advanced level Biology (OCR and AQA) and is currently an external coursework moderator for OCR after many years of being a coursework moderator for AQA when it still ran. He has very good outcomes where his students achieve well, many of whom have gone on to university including Oxford, Cambridge and even Harvard to study further. Student feedback is always very positive.
Jason takes the time to get to know his students in order to ascertain the best approaches and resources to utilise. He is patient and a good communicator, and he scaffolds and chunks the content to ensure skills and knowledge are developed over time. Contextualisation and praise / use of rewards also help to motivate and ensure enjoyment of the subject while regular feedback supports his students in knowing how to improve and progress.
