Hello my name is Harriet, I am 22 years old and I am currently in my fourth year of studying Medicine at Newcastle University. I am keen to teach students in maths, English, and science as well as 11+ exam preparation.
As I am a student, I know it`s not easy absorbing new material and trying to understand new concepts, so I`m here to explain it all to you as many times as you need me to!
Thank you for taking the time to read through my profile.
I have been a tutor in maths, English, and science for two years with experience tutoring students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, and autism. I tutor both in person and online (via Skype).
Studying medicine has provided me with extensive experience working with children, as well as effective methods of communication which help when explaining difficult concepts to students. I have also sat the UKCAT entrance exam for medical school, which is similar to the 11+. It has provided me with extra tips and techniques to help improve speed and accuracy, which is a particularly issue with entrance exams. I have experience volunteering at an after-school club for younger children with disabilities and I was a member of a town youth council for three years.
I really enjoy teaching which I hope comes across through my teaching, and I would love to continue this into the future.
