My background

Welcome!
My name is Ebi and I am passionate about young people, culture, knowledge and business.
I motivate and inspire students to realise their true capabilities and a clear path to success.

My classes are tailored according to the different needs, learning methods and interest of my students.
I am very creative, expressive and knowledgeable and I incorporate a mixed-method approach in my teaching (use of media, role play). I always motivate, encourage and engage with my students in a friendly and professional manner.
I have 5 years of teaching experience and my students always comment on how much their confidence has grown after working with me.

I am very familiar with the AQA, Edexcel and OCR syllabuses and their guidelines. I am specialised in Shakespeare, Victorian Novels, Poetry, Creative Writing, Exam Practice and Essay Structure.
Literature includes: Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, Othello, A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls, Animal Farm, Jane Eyre, Lord of the Flies, Jekyll & Hyde + more
My lessons include regular reference to the AO's. I stress the importance for students to know these by heart (and their differences) in order to feel more confident in their essay writing.

My teaching style focuses on building the confidence of my students not only in writing but in truly understanding the human elements of the literary text. I bring a fresh and dynamic approach to interpreting text. With my six years of tutoring in addition to my, education and experience working in youth programmes, I believe that my versatility inspires students to engage and become more determined.
The development of trust and effective communication are just as important as literary themes and motifs. I facilitate a safe space for critical thinking and encourage students to look beyond the text by relating the literature to real life . I want my students to truly feel confident when they speak about the text and get into the habit of exploring thinking analytically.
I have a passion for supporting young people and I believe that my unique and creative approach benefits the academic and personal development of the student.
I always build and maintain a good relationship with parents also through regular follow-ups of their child's progress.
If you are determined to succeed and you feel like I may be a good fit as a tutor, please don't hesitate to send me a message or book a lesson.

Experience

I have been tutoring for around 6 years + particularly to school children aged between 11-16 and at higher education also, both privately and at a tutor school. I have worked with all the major UK exam syllabuses and with a variety of literature both classic and contemporary.
I can also tutor other humanities subjects such as History, Religious Education, Citizenship Studies etc.
