My background

Hi, I'am a professional singer/songwriter/guitarist and recording artist, playing for nearly 30 years, teaching for the last 20. I've been in more bands than I can count and I continue to perform, write and collaborate with some world class musicians in my area and beyond. My main passion is songwriting and I use the guitar to write and, as a result, I've studied a variety of styles up to an advanced level, from pop, to folk, blues, rock, metal and jazz. I have a unique and very successful approach to teaching that includes encouraging students to create their own music as well as learning other people's material. I provide detailed and comprehensive study aids, such as printable handouts and custom made backing tracks. I will help you clearly define your learning goals and help to achieve them as quickly as possible, whether you want to play finger-style as an accompaniment for singing , or blistering lead guitar and everything in between. Experience

I've been teaching guitar, ukulele, singing, songwriting/composition and music production for the last 20 years. I have worked with hundreds of students one to one as well as running music groups in my local community and teaching music in further education. I continue to write, perform and record my own music as well as collaborating with other artists. I have a well developed and thorough curriculum for teaching guitar from beginner to advanced level in a number of styles.
