My background

Hi I'm Celia, I am a qualifies teacher with over 5 years experience working in primary schools across key stage 2. I came into teaching from a background in nursing and this has led me to believe that children learn best when they feel safe, secure and listened to. I work hard to ensure I build positive relationships with the children I teach, based on mutual respect, to create the best environment for learning. I am an enthusiastic practitioner, whose aim is to inspire and motivate children through my teaching, having high expectations for every pupil. I prepare tailored lessons for the specific needs of each child I teach, following a plan, do, review cycle to ensure my teaching fits each individual's need. For those children who are excelling academically, I make sure I give them opportunities to deepen their thinking so they have a richer understanding of the subjects they are learning about.
Every child is unique and I seek out ways to be imaginative and creative to enthuse my pupils. I encourage my pupils to have high aspirations of what they can achieve through the questions I ask them and through the encouraging feedback, to help instill a growth mindset within them. I believe that with the help of a growth mindset, children are able to achieve what they set out to achieve.

PGCE in Primary Teaching.
Level 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools.
