My background

I love Biology (and science in general).
I am very passionate about sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm, by tutoring in a fun, memorable way, which enables students, not only to learn and understand the information, but also to grow to love the subject.

Experience

I have recently graduated with a BSc in Natural Science (Biology and Chemistry). One of the modules I completed was 'Biology into Schools', which involved researching the effectiveness of different learning and teaching styles, as well as a placement in a school teaching a GCSE Biology class. I also have experience engaging groups of young people, when I volunteered as a team leader with Raleigh International, and was involved in running training and day to day activities for the volunteers. Additionally, I am experienced in working with individuals with special needs, having worked as an activity coordinator at a day centre for adults with complex disabilities. This used my creativity and initiative to think of inclusive activities which people of all abilities could enjoy. I will use these skills in my teaching to create innovative activities and also to be adaptable and flexible in my tutoring style.
