My background

I joined the Army at 17, and eventually become a bomb technician (EOD), deploying to Iraq in that capacity. While in my unit, both stateside and overseas, I trained military and police in explosives hazard, post-blast investigations, and crime scene analysis. I trained and taught classes with and without an interpreter, in indoor and outdoor environments, always in culturally diverse settings.

After nearly an 8 year career, I transitioned to the academic/civilian life. I realized teaching was a career I should pursue. So I graduated with a theology degree with honours, and determined to use my GI Bill to attend school overseas -- an MA in philosophy from the University of Buckingham. The worst thing from a student's perspective is a teacher who doesn't care. But since I enjoy both technology and teaching, and so serving people in a way that allows me to use both my tech skills and people skills to do what I love I am to provide the positive attitude and great experience any student would expect.

Experience

I have been working for two years providing one-on-one tutoring in theology, Bible, philosophy and ecclesiastical history. It has been a pleasure working full-time for Ligonier Ministries, able to serve and teach to a worldwide audience. Often this meant English was not a comfortable language for my student, yet I was able to comfortably assist on many occasions. Naturally, no tutor or teacher knows everything there is to know on a subject; whenever I didn't feel comfortable, I would research the matter and get back to my student, receiving the highest ratings consistently. I am happy to work patiently with my student as long as need by, step by step, helping to make sense of matters, and tailor my time with each person uniquely.

MA in Philosophy, (pending 2020 graduation, thesis submitted): University of Buckingham
BA in Theological Studies, with honours: Reformation Bible College
2 years of online tutoring experience in relevant field of expertise to worldwide audience
