I have been teaching maths at a secondary school for the last 5 years. During this time, I have taught both Edexcel and AQA GCSE syllabus. I have also taught all stages from Year 7 to Year 13. When teaching A Level, I have experience with successfully teaching Pure Maths and Mechanics.
During my time at this secondary school, I have worked as Assistant Head of Mathematics. Within this role, I have created resources and schemes of work for the department and have a bank of resources that are available to me.
I have 5 years of teaching Mathematics at all levels at a secondary school. I have taught up to A Level Maths (Pure and Mechanics). I have a bank of resources and exam materials due to this experience. I truly believe that we can all be mathematicians if we have the confidence and can see tangible progress of our skills, and this is what I guide pupils towards.
I have experience with teaching Edexcel and AQA GCSE. I have guided pupils to achieve grade 9s at GCSE.
I have also actively worked on developing resources and schemes of work for my department and have a sound understanding of tailoring resources to suit the learner, as we are all different.
I believe in positive reinforcement to support pupil progression. Many pupils struggle with Maths due to a lack of confidence in their abilities and I believe that my role as a tutor is to both increase pupils’ understanding of the subject and their confidence with interacting with it.
During my time teaching at a secondary school, I have taught Years 7 to 13 (A Level). I am confident in teaching Pure and Mechanics at A Level. I have also guided pupils to achieving Grade 9s at GCSE.
I originally trained as a primary school teacher and have a sound understanding of the building blocks of mathematics learning. I draw on these skills when support less confident pupils in achieving their goals.
