My background

I am currently finishing my Ph.D. in Gothic Victorian studies at the University of Leicester. I have been studying English Literature for eight years now and am highly passionate about getting my doctorate and pursuing teaching in the future. I also have a degree in Linguistics and can speak English, Spanish, Hindi, and French. It is my belief that I have a deep understanding of language structures and therefore, am very confident in my teaching skills as I used to work as a freelance tutor throughout my time as an Undergraduate in the U.S. During this time, I tutored international students who were keen to improve their grasp of the English Langauge, and were struggling with essay writing and/or general English speaking skills. I have also worked as an assistant editor for the University of Leicester creative writing journal- The Luciad. My role as an editor required accurate proofreading skills, understanding of language and its use in creative writing, editing, and providing helpful feedback. I am a highly organised, patient, and conscientious individual, who strives to provide my best in every area of my life, whether it be professional or academic. I am very passionate about teaching and have a good understanding of my subject.
