As Head of Geography at a small tutorial college in the west of England, my primary role was to prepare A level and GCSE students for their exams, a role I fuliflled with a first class excellent success rate. Classes were small, often one-to-one so I'm well accustomed to the quite different dynamic of personal tuition, whether face-to-face or online. I am also a part-time PhD student at the University of Exeter; combining teaching and studying has given me an important insight into the stresses contemporary students have to face, be they 18 or 48. As an examiner I can pass on tips in essay-writing skills and exam technique; remember, it's not just what you say it's how you say it. Finally, I also work as a specialist geography revision tutor for one of the UK's leading revision providers.
Nearly twenty years as a specialist revision tutor in geography and other social science/humanities subjects. Five years experience as an examiner, GCSE, A level and undergraduate level, this year I have also been part of the script re-marking process.
