My Background

I have been a tutor on and off for 5 years now and have a great knowledge of the current GCSE curriculum. My subject knowledge additionally extends to A Level mathematics. I have prior experience in tutoring 11-18 year olds and try my best to make my sessions challenging and engaging for my tutees.

I think that understanding is key and love to find new ways to explain concepts for my tutees to get their lightbulb moment! Once misconceptions are broken down and the main concepts are fully comprehended, maths can become a less daunting (and even enjoyable!) subject. Additionally, I find it important to develop exam technique so that my tutees' mathematical ability can shine through in the exam. Too often marks are lost on silly mistakes when the student could readily get full marks.

I am patient and encouraging and aim to teach my tutees to behave in the same way with themselves. I truly believe that anyone can become good at maths, they just need someone that is willing and able to find a way to explain things in a way that they’ll understand.
