My background

Having worked in both classroom and individual tutoring contexts, I have developed a strong understanding of and enthusiasm for these complementary forms of teaching, as well as the flexibility and adaptable approach it is necessary to bring to each lesson. While enjoying the immersive school context, I believe that working with students individually, whether this is in a face-to-face context or online, is hugely beneficial in allowing their focus and creativity to flourish. My priority is to provide engaging, supportive lessons for each student, in which they feel comfortable voicing, questioning and developing knowledge and ideas. This approach allows challenges and questions to be faced with confidence and provides a strong foundation for understanding and progression. Having worked with a variety of students, both in achieving particular goals and in providing on-going practice and immersion in the subject, I am always aware of students’ differing and changing needs. To support these, I consistently offer a range of materials and teaching methods in order to develop clarity and engagement. Through this approach, I am able to ensure that my students not only understand how to succeed, but are able to do so confidently and through a developing love and enjoyment of the subject.
