I am a 3rd year Zoology student studying at Royal Holloway University of London. I am a part of the Animal conservations society as well as Pole and Arial fitness society, which I thoroughly enjoy. I also enjoy doing art and photography in my free time or as part of my wind down routine after a long day. I have always enjoyed biology especially throughout primary and secondary school, and my knowledge has been implemented in many of my modules at University. I have an overall B grade for Additional Science at GCSE and a distinction in Biology and Chemistry at college. The modules I study within my degree related to biology are: cell biology, extreme animal physiology as well as human physiology, plants and fungi, the cardiovascular system, the respiratory system and microbiology etc.
As a diagnosed dyslexic and with a mother who specialises in teaching children with dyslexia I have a deep understanding that each student works best through different methods of teaching. Therefore I am able to relate to different struggles students may face when studying so I am able adapt my teaching methods to fit the student. However, I myself am partial to use a more visual style, such as diagrams and flow charts and colour coordination to help commit information to memory. Though again this can be changed to suit the student. In each session, we will focus on one or two topics and begin by teaching, then set aside ample time for applied questions. Applying knowledge to questions is fundamental to consolidate what the student has learned and gives the student examples of how the information may be assessed. As we are working through if there are certain topics that the student is struggling with I will adjust the next session to allow us time to work through those topics before we move onto the next one
