My background

Bonjour! I'm Maïté! I was born and grew up in Normandy, nice and beautiful french region, just across the Channel. After school, I studied to become a teacher and became a substitute for 2 years. It was the most interesting and challenging experience in my life so far and strengthened my choice of becoming a teacher. Then, I decided to move to UK because I wanted to improve my English. It's been 2 years now that I'm in this country and now, I would love to share my knowledge about my mother tongue and my culture to anyone who'd like to learn French and improve it !

Experience

I started to work in schools when I was studying, to get to know the job of teacher. First, I was helping the teachers by managing activities, group workshops. Then, after my Master Degree in Professions of education and training, I became a substitute teacher from one week to three months in different institutions. During that period of time, I worked in a nursery school, Year 2, Year 6, Year 7, Year 8 and Year 11. It allowed me to discover many ways to teach and to adapt to any student. After that, I worked for a whole year as a French teacher in Years 9 and 10 and supervised a baccalaureate exam in Year 12. This year was about classroom management, activity preparation, knowledge assessment, exam preparation.

Qualifications

After my baccalaureate exam with a major in literature and a European mention in 2011, I studied for 3 years sciences of language and french sign language with a major in teaching for school and I got my bachelor in 2014. Then, I studied 2 more years Professions of Education and Training in Primary School and passed my Master Degree in 2016.
