I graduated this year after reading English Literature at the University of Oxford.
In the English Literature Aptitude Test (ELAT) to get an interview for Oxford University, I scored 58/60. I received two unconditional offers from universities (Nottingham and Lancaster), and a scholarship offer (Lancaster). I received offers to all five universities I applied to (all in the top ten for English Literature).
I am passionate about my subject, and I think that reminding students what they love about their subject is really crucial for positive progression. Furthermore, I found applying to university a very enjoyable process. This was because my personal statement was the hardest I have ever worked academically and the end result was an essay I took great pride in producing.
I was a regular contributor to the Oxford Student (Oxford's student-run newspaper). I was also a member of the University’s DanceSport society! I have many interests in other areas of academia, undertaking a three-week course at the University of Stanford as a visiting student.
