Hi everyone! I'm Iain, and am from Middle Wallop in the U.K. I have an MA (Hons) in Mathematics. I am super passionate about the subject, particularly helping people to understand it better, or look at it from a different angle. I am a tutor as well as a lecturer and teacher. Aside from maths, I like swimming, cycling and hiking. I have a West Highland Terrier called George who loves walks and stealing socks! I speak three languages (English, Spanish, Russian). I love reading and try to finish a book every week. For many years I've volunteered at a school for blind and partial-sighting, teaching mathematics.
I have taught and tutored mathematics for 10 years now.
I've tutored students preparing for school and university entrance exams, as well as those wanting to complement their on-going studies. I have experience both with students extremely confident in mathematics as well as those who find the subject challenging.
I've taught MBA students, undergraduates, and those taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses in Calculus, Statistics and Physics. I'm an examiner for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, marking Extended Essays in Mathematics and exam papers.
I'm the Director of the General Education Mathematics Programme at the American University of Central Asia and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics.
I have previously taught in international school and primary school environments in Georgia and China, and as a Teaching Assistant in schools around London.
