My background

Hello! My name is Elli and I am an English tutor with a thirst for teaching English language and literature and a passion to help students achieve their best potential! I am an experienced English language and literature teacher with a demonstrated history of working in the e-learning industry and the English Private School sector. I have a 9-year experience in English language teaching of all levels and competences. I have also extensively studied the UK curriculum and prepared myself for all aspects of the GCSE examinations.

Experience

I am skilled in Research, British Literature, and American Literature, and I have both published several academic papers on English literatures and participated in several international literature conferences. I am also a distinguished coordinator for various literature workshops, conventions, symposiums and conferences related to the literary studies field. Strong media and communication skills are therefore always part of my personal experience.

Additionally, I have immersed myself in translating, as well as editing and proofreading several books/texts in English. I am also a literature reviewer for the OnlineBookclub organisation, which gives me the opportunity to read books on a weekly basis and honestly practise my skills on literary insight.

My passion for teaching and literature has been enhanced/furthered by my Masters Studies in Anglophone Literatures and Cultures at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH); not only did I familiarise myself with research and literary analysis on a deeper level, but I have also acquired extensive knowledge in presentations, teaching, and colleague cooperation. I am currently a PhD researcher and I am working on English Romantic studies.

I love English language and culture, and I also love teaching and helping students shape their lives on a daily basis; I believe this is the most rewarding job I can ever ask for.

Qualifications

I have acquired both my Bachelors and Masters degrees in English Language and Culture from the Aristotle University in Greece, and I have also attended courses in Scottish Literature from the University of Edinburgh. I am currently in the process of writing my PhD dissertation at the University of Sheffield in the UK, where I now live and study.
