Hola! I am an enthusiastic Durham University student offering Spanish classes to all ages, up to and including A level standard. I believe learning a language is such a valuable and rewarding skill to have, so I want to give everyone the opportunity to build on their fluency in Spanish and become more familiar with both simple and complex grammatical structures.
My method will involve tailoring the classes to suit areas that each individual needs to focus upon in order to achieve desired results. This will be through a set of varied and engaging tasks that focus not only on grammar points, but also on informal discussions to help improve fluency and build confidence. l will always give simple instructions in Spanish and, depending on the standard, will try and limit my use of English to create an immersive experience.
I have 8 years experience of learning Spanish and have achieved A*s in both A level and GCSE exams, as well as having completed my first year at Durham University with a first. I gained experience in mentoring during my time at school when I guided younger students during choir and orchestra rehearsals, which enabled me to develop effective communication and time-management skills.
Furthermore, I have spent time in Salamanca staying with a host family which greatly improved my fluency and confidence in the language, whilst also building on my grammar proficiency as I undertook an advanced grammar class during my time there.
I achieved 3 A*s at A level, as well as all 9s and A* grades at GCSE. I have also recently achieved a first in my first year exams at Durham University.
