My background

For me success for students' learning is about creating the right 'space' to connect and establish positive tutor-student relationships. As a highly experienced teacher of 30 years,
- teaching all subjects at primary and Maths to secondary students up to Year 11, I come alongside those who find Maths daunting and teach them to experience success by breaking the learning into manageable chunks. I enjoy extending motivated and talented Maths students and encouraging all students to develop a 'have a go' attitude. I have a strong belief in giving students opportunities to excel and to see purpose in their learning and listen to where the problem really is and find creative ways to teach a learning point. The challenges of working in different school cultures with the ability to quickly establish supportive and positive relationships with young students helps me to offer valuable supportive students.
