My background

I hold a BA and MA from the University of London and live in the UK. Also CELTA qualified for teaching English Language. My passion is to inspire confidence in my students and make lessons fun. I help my students discover their own potential. Often, I use original material to deliver my classes thereby making them fit the needs of my student/s.

Experience

I have 20+ years experience of teaching ESOL in the classroom and privately to individuals and small groups. I have worked in the UK and in other parts of the world including Africa and the Middle East. This has given me wonderful opportunities to teach in different cultural settings and adapt my classes to my students' needs. I have taught from primary level students through to undergraduates at university, each level being a truly rewarding experience.

Alongside my professionally paid work, I have been involved in home schooling my children from primary level to GCSEs. With me, they all achieved top grades in English Language GCSE and well before their peers. Whilst they are now much older, I now teach English and Maths to children hoping to sit the entry tests to grammar school in my local area.

I love new challenges and new people and teaching is as much a passion as it is a job. I endeavour to pass that passion for language and learning onto my students each time I step into my teaching role.
