Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
My experiences to date have moulded my educational philosophy that everyone has a right to a comprehensive education, no matter what ethnic, cultural or socio-economic background and everyone should be given equal opportunities. I believe that all people learn best when they are inspired and motivated by passionate energised teachers, who care about the content they are delivering. My inspiration as a teacher comes from seeing people achieve at an individual level and no matter the size of the achievement, and this is recognised in their journey when learning an instrument. I am very passionate about teaching, especially my main subject music and I am very passionate about seeing all people strive for and achieve their potential.
I have teaching 1-2-1 exclusively for over 4 years now and have built up a clientele of different students. I have truly enjoyed meeting new people and learning the best way in how individuals learn. This has meant my practice is always evolving and I like to think has improved my own practice and hopefully the teaching experience of the student.
As well as my private teaching I continue to teach in schools and have a varied experience in working at different schools. This varies from a post 16 charity to a high achieving academy to an independent school to my current school, which is more demanding school due to behaviour. I am currently Head of Music and have held similar positions for the last 5 years. I have been involved in many aspects of the music curriculum including arranging peripatetic lessons/ rewriting curriculums/ introducing technology in curriculums/ introducing difference musical opportunities to students.
