My name is Alice, or as I am more frequently called: Miss Ratcliff. I am a passionate art enthusiast. I absolutely love anything that allows my creativity to flow and teaching children is one of the best ways for this to happen. Children's minds are constantly thinking, always imagining and forever on-the-go! Art is a great outlet for all of these and I love watching children explore their creativity with a range of materials, techniques and ideas.
I have exhibited my own artwork in galleries across Wales, displaying my love for photorealistic pencil work. I am currently broadening my expertise by practicing my paint work.
I am passionate about children's mental health and I aim to include wellbeing in my lessons as much as I can- whether that's through thought processing, discussions, playing music during creative time or sensory artistic opportunities.
I have worked for the last 2 years in a vast variety of primary schools in Chepstow, Newport, Cardiff, Pontypool, Cross keys and Bridgend.
During the lockdown period between March-August I wrote project based lessons suitable for KS1 and KS2. These were delivered directly to homes across Newport to enable and facilitate art home learning.
